1977 Triumph T140V Bonneville : Maintenance and Repair

Recently a new customer brought in a 1977 Triumph Bonneville T140V. It was a barn find, but in very good shape, stored dry with the fuel correctly removed. Put away due to the previous owner having more than one bike, a long overdue clutch rebuild and dirty carbs; the new owner lucked out with this original machine. The only modifications from the original owner were some custom made risers, a 70's era removable twisted steel forward footrest and cut pipes with drag tips.

After a high quality clutch rebuild, a clean out of the oil, a fluid change and once over of the breaking system the bike was well on it's way. Miles were indeed original, and the motor had full compression with the electrical being in good working order. After some cosmetic changes ( custom 60's era side covers, and canister style airfilters) and a new battery this bike was on it's way down the road. The owner added a set of vintage low rise handlebars, and sent in this new pic of his prized Bonnie that sports some 60's looks with the advantages of the 750 motor, a 5 speed gearbox, left side shift and disc brakes.
